Thanks to the introduction of mobile computing devices like the smartphone, demand for wireless local area network (WLAN) technology is expanding drastically and will continue to do so in the coming years. In fact, global network traffic will grow at a CAGR of 66 percent from 2012-17. Monthly global mobile data traffic will surpass 10 exabytes by 2017, and Japan in particular will reach 1.8 exabytes.
In environments with periods of extreme network traffic, a lot of global companies are seeking to build new business models.
